The fine print, in plain language

Service Agreement

Last updated: October 17, 2026

I started DW Wash to do good work for good people. That's it. This agreement isn't here to trap you in fine print — it's here so we're both clear on what to expect, and so we're both protected if something goes sideways. I treat your home like it's my own, and I ask for the same respect in return. If you ever have an issue, call me. We'll figure it out like adults.

— DW Wash · (304) 374-4190 · Contactdwwash@gmail.com

This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is between DW Wash ("we," "us," "our") and you ("Customer," "you," "your"). By booking a service, paying a deposit, or starting a membership, you agree to these terms. This is a legal agreement. Please read it carefully. We strongly recommend having it reviewed by your own attorney before signing.

1. Services

DW Wash provides residential and commercial exterior cleaning and protection services, including window cleaning (interior, exterior, or both), pressure washing of homes, driveways, and walkways, gutter cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, caulk refresh, and hydrophobic glass coating application. The exact services included in your job are listed in your signed proposal or order confirmation.

What we do not do: We are a cleaning and prevention company, not a repair company. We do not fix broken windows, replace glass, repair roofs, fix plumbing or electrical issues, remove mold inside walls, or perform structural repairs. If we find damage during a visit, we will tell you, but fixing it is outside our scope.

2. Estimates vs. final price

  • Prices shown on our website, quiz, or shop page are estimates based on the information you provide. They are not final quotes.
  • Your final price is confirmed in person after we assess your property and before any work begins. You will never be charged more than the assessed price without your explicit approval.
  • If the assessed price differs from the online estimate, you may decline the service. However, deposits are non-refundable (see Section 4).
  • We round prices to the nearest $25 for simplicity. This is standard across all our pricing.

3. Residential memberships

Residential memberships run for one year and include four scheduled visits. Plans differ by what each visit covers:

  • Shield Essential: spring and summer glass resets with track and weep-hole checks, fall screen and track detail, plus one winter interior-glass touch-up. Every visit ends Shield Certified.
  • Shield Complete: seasonal glass resets, gutter clearing twice per year with drainage checks, interior windows once per year with seal inspection. Every visit ends Shield Certified.
  • Shield Total: spring full-exterior reset (glass, house wash, concrete); summer glass, interior windows, and gutters; fall glass and concrete with a winter-ready check; winter glass, interior windows, and gutters with seal inspections. Every visit ends Shield Certified.

Every residential plan includes free touch-ups between visits on covered services. Membership pricing reflects the full one-year commitment — see "Cancellation" below if you need to end your plan early.

Story surcharge: Homes with more than one story incur a $50 surcharge per additional story on applicable services (gutter cleaning, house wash, caulk refresh, window cleaning). This reflects the additional ladder work, time, and risk. The surcharge is included in your estimate when you provide your story count.

4. Deposits

  • A $50 deposit is required to book any service or membership assessment. We do not schedule visits without a deposit.
  • Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel, do not show up, or decline the assessed price, the deposit is forfeited.
  • Your deposit comes off your total. If your total is $350, you pay $300 after we assess your property and you agree to the payment agreement.
  • The deposit holds your spot in our schedule and covers our trip to assess your property.
  • Deposits are applied to your first invoice only and cannot be transferred to another person or property.

5. One-time services

One-time services are available through our shop page without a membership. The same deposit, assessment, and payment terms in this Agreement apply.

  • $90 order minimum: We do not dispatch for orders under $90. This covers fuel, setup, and travel time.
  • Story surcharge: $50 per story above the first applies to gutter cleaning, house wash, caulk refresh, and window cleaning.
  • Window cleaning: priced per window — $7 exterior, $5 interior, $12 both sides. You select which windows; the price is calculated from your window count.
  • Shield glass coating ($125): a hydrophobic coating applied to clean windows after washing. Your windows must be cleaned first — the coating cannot be applied to dirty glass. The coating makes water sheet off and keeps glass cleaner longer, but it does not make windows permanently clean and does not prevent all spotting from hard water, sprinklers, or environmental contaminants.
  • Caulk refresh ($15/window): we inspect window seals and reseal what is cracking, missing, or failing. This is a maintenance service, not a waterproofing guarantee. It does not guarantee against all water intrusion, especially where structural issues, rotted framing, or failed flashing exist.
  • Gutter cleaning: we clear debris from gutters and check that downspouts run free. This does not include gutter repair, reattachment, resealing of seams, or installation of gutter guards unless explicitly listed in your proposal.
  • House wash: low-pressure washing of siding to remove algae, dirt, and staining. This does not include paint restoration, oxidation removal beyond normal cleaning, or repair of damaged siding.
  • Dryer vent cleaning ($99): we clear lint buildup from your dryer vent line. This reduces fire risk and improves dryer efficiency but does not guarantee against all fire hazards, especially with damaged or improperly installed venting.

6. Commercial service

Commercial window cleaning is billed per visit at the flat price shown in your quote. Properties with 21 or more windows receive a custom flat price after a free on-site assessment. Commercial plans are scheduled around your business hours. Commercial service may be cancelled any time with notice before your next scheduled visit.

7. Payment plans and billing

  • Residential memberships are billed quarterly, in advance, at the rate in your signed proposal. Your first quarterly payment is due before your first visit.
  • Commercial service is billed per visit. Recurring commercial clients are billed on the schedule in their proposal (weekly, every two weeks, or monthly).
  • One-time services are billed as follows: $50 deposit at booking, remaining balance due after we assess your property and you agree to the payment agreement, before work begins.
  • We accept payment by credit or debit card through our secure online payment link, and by other methods stated in your proposal.
  • Invoices are due within 7 days. If a payment is late, I'll reach out first — I'd rather work it out than pause your service. But if we can't get current, I may need to pause scheduled visits until the balance is caught up. Balances more than 30 days overdue may incur a $25 late fee per billing cycle.
  • If your card fails, I'll notify you and retry once. If it still doesn't go through, I'll contact you directly before pausing anything. Life happens — just communicate with me.
  • Returned payments: if a check or electronic payment is returned for insufficient funds, a $35 returned-payment fee applies in addition to any late fees.

8. Free touch-ups

Touch-ups are free between scheduled visits on services covered by your plan. Touch-ups cover the same glass and areas from your last visit, and are scheduled subject to availability. Touch-ups do not include new services, storm damage, construction dust, or areas outside your plan. Touch-ups must be requested within 30 days of the issue being noticed.

9. Scheduling, access, and weather

  • I'll confirm each visit in advance. If you need to reschedule, just give me at least 24 hours notice — no penalty, no hassle.
  • Please provide reasonable access to the areas being serviced, including gates, and an outdoor water spigot where needed for pressure washing.
  • Outdoor work is weather-dependent. If I need to reschedule for rain, high wind, or freezing temps, there's no charge and I'll get you rebooked as fast as I can.
  • If I show up and can't get access to the property, a $39 missed-visit fee may apply. I don't like charging this — it just covers the fuel and time. A quick text beforehand avoids it entirely.
  • Right to refuse: We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe — including but not limited to aggressive animals, hazardous materials, structurally unsound surfaces, active construction, or threatening behavior. If we stop work for safety reasons, you will not be charged for unperformed services, but the deposit remains non-refundable.

10. If we damage your property

If we break something, we fix it. Period. That's how I was raised and that's how I run this business:

  • If we break or damage something while performing our services, we will repair or replace it at our expense. Tell us as soon as you notice, and no later than 7 days after the visit. I won't argue about it — if it's our fault, we own it.
  • Before each job we note pre-existing damage we can see. We're not responsible for damage that already existed, or for failures caused by pre-existing conditions such as rotted wood, loose fixtures, cracked seals, deferred maintenance, oxidized paint, or failing caulk that was not part of the agreed scope.
  • Pressure washing, by its nature, can reveal pre-existing damage hidden under dirt and algae — including rotted wood, loose paint, cracked siding, and deteriorated mortar. Revealing hidden damage is not causing damage. We are not liable for conditions that our cleaning exposes.
  • We're not responsible for normal wear, for water spots that return due to sprinkler or gutter issues outside our scope, or for items you asked us to work around that were not disclosed before the visit.
  • To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the visit during which the issue occurred.

11. Limitation of liability

  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DW WASH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of use, or damage to property not directly caused by our negligence, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from any single visit shall not exceed the amount paid for that visit.
  • Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct to the extent such limitation is prohibited by Ohio law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DW Wash, its owner, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your breach of this Agreement; (b) inaccurate information you provided about your property; (c) your failure to disclose known hazards or pre-existing conditions; or (d) your negligence or willful misconduct.

13. Your responsibilities

  • Move or secure fragile items near the work areas before we arrive, and tell us about anything unusually delicate.
  • Keep pets and children clear of work areas while we are on site.
  • Provide accurate information about your property when requesting a quote so your price is correct. Inaccurate window counts, square footage, or story counts may result in a price adjustment at the time of assessment.
  • Disclose any known hazards: aggressive animals, hidden electrical, unstable structures, chemical sensitivities, or areas we should avoid.
  • Ensure an adult (18+) is available for interior work, or provide written authorization for us to enter.

14. Cancellation

Life happens. I get it. If you need to cancel, here's how it works — no games, no gotchas:

  • Residential memberships: one-year term. When you sign up, you're committing to the full year — that's what makes the discounted membership rate possible. If you need to end your plan early, the clawback below applies. Quarterly payments already made are non-refundable. Deposits are non-refundable.
  • The clawback, explained honestly: your membership rate is discounted because you're committing to a full year. If you cancel early, visits already completed will be rebilled at our standard one-time prices (listed in your signed proposal), minus what you've already paid. I'm not trying to punish you — the discount only works if the commitment is real. But I'd rather keep you as a customer than collect a clawback, so talk to me first.
  • If you're going through a hard time: call me before you cancel. Job loss, medical bills, family emergency — I've been there. I'd rather pause your plan, work out a payment arrangement, or figure something out together than lose you. The agreement gives me the right to enforce the terms below, but I'd always rather do right by you first.
  • Commercial service: cancel any time with notice before your next scheduled visit. You will not be billed for visits after cancellation.
  • One-time services: cancel any time before we arrive. Your deposit is non-refundable, but you owe nothing further.

15. Photos and media

  • We may take before-and-after photos of your property for quality documentation, our portfolio, and marketing. We will never publish photos that identify you personally — no faces, no license plates, no house numbers — without your written permission.
  • If you do not want your property photographed for marketing purposes, tell us in writing before your first visit and we will limit photos to internal quality documentation only.
  • You grant us the right to use anonymized before-and-after photos in our marketing unless you opt out as described above.

16. Shield Registry

  • DW Wash maintains a public Shield Registry of certified service addresses. When your property earns Shield Certified status, we list the service address, certification dates, scope of work certified, and visit count. No personal information — no names, phone numbers, or email addresses — is ever published.
  • Detailed visit findings are private to you and are shared only with parties you approve, such as a buyer or realtor handling your property.
  • If you prefer your address not be listed, tell us in writing before your first visit and we will exclude it.

17. Dispute resolution

  • Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, call (304) 374-4190. Most issues are misunderstandings, and I'd rather fix it directly than have anyone involve lawyers.
  • If we can't resolve it directly, both parties agree to attempt mediation in Lucas County, Ohio before filing any legal action. Mediation costs will be split equally.
  • If mediation fails, any legal action must be brought in the courts of Lucas County, Ohio, and Ohio law governs this Agreement.
  • Small claims: either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court without first mediating.

18. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control — including natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government orders, or labor disruptions. If such an event prevents scheduled service for more than 30 days, either party may cancel the affected services without penalty (deposits remain non-refundable, but no further payment is owed).

19. The signed proposal controls

If anything in this Agreement conflicts with your signed proposal or order confirmation, the signed proposal wins for your specific job. Your proposal lists your exact services, schedule, and price.

20. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your booking applies to that booking. Material changes to payment terms will be communicated before they take effect. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

21. General

  • Entire agreement: This Agreement, together with your signed proposal or order confirmation, is the entire agreement between us. It supersedes all prior discussions, quotes, and understandings.
  • Severability: If any part of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver: If we don't enforce a term once, that doesn't mean we've given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer this Agreement or your membership to another person or property without our written consent. We may assign this Agreement in connection with a sale of the business, with notice to you.
  • Notices: Official notices under this Agreement must be in writing and sent to Contactdwwash@gmail.com (for us) or the email/address on file (for you).

22. Contact

Questions? Concerns? Just want to talk it through? Call or text (304) 374-4190 or email Contactdwwash@gmail.com. You'll reach me directly — no phone trees, no runaround.

Important: This is a plain-language agreement written to be fair to both of us. It is not a substitute for legal advice. We strongly recommend you have this Agreement reviewed by your own Ohio attorney before signing. DW Wash will also have this Agreement reviewed by an Ohio attorney as the business grows. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
